If there is one thing I hate about the people in the Philippine government specially it's officials, that would be that they don't have brains. These people always boast of their educational backgrounds or during the election they would always lay down their beautiful plans to improve things here in the Philippines. But even if they graduated with degrees or graduated from a reputable and well known university, their credentials are nothing more than papers if they can't use their coconut shell properly.
They can never disagree with me if I would say that they are all brainless, compared to a monkey in a zoo, the monkey would have more brain than they do. If they would only give an effort to think for a solution for the problems our country is facing the solution is obvious and simple.
The problem with squatters or informal settlers and the problem that most of them have no work, there is a simple solution that could solve this two problems. Why don't the government buy these properties that is being occupied by and build an apartment type building on these lands and hiring those that can work on the construction. They could be given work and homes at the same time, if they don't wanna leave the place then at least make them occupy less space. Meanwhile in the remaining space of land the government could put up a factory or a establishment where these informal settlers could work after the building is finished.
Another simple solution that could solve a lot of problems is the solution for the problem regarding waste disposal. Instead of just asking people to segregate their trash, why don't the government provide trash bin where people can segregate their garbage. Then build a factory where the biodegradable waste could be processed into fertilizers, thus producing jobs for people who have no work.
These are some simple solution that could make life here in the Philippines more better, if only the people concerned would use their brains to find real solution to problems we are facing. A common reason given by people in the government why solutions can't be implemented is the lack of funds, but the solution is plain and simple that could solve tons of problems our beloved country is facing, and it is for corruption and selfishness to stop. People in the government should find solution and not excuses for their lacking of capacity to use their brains, instead of letting greed and selfishness make the decision, they should use their heads instead.

For the Record. You can determine how far away a thunderstorm is without using any special instruments. First, wait for a lightning flash. Then count the seconds that pass until the sound of thunder is heard. Sound travels about 1 mile (1.6km.) in five seconds. Thus if there are five seconds between the lightning flash and the thunderclap, the storm is about a mile away. If ten seconds pass, it is 2 miles away, and so on.
A Friendly Reminder. If you are driving during a thunderstorm, stay in your car. It is one of the safest places to be. If lightning does strike, it will flash over the surface of the vehicle - which is virtually a metal cage - and run harmlessly to the ground. If you're on foot in the wilderness, do not take cover in cave mouths, rock-face overhangs or recesses under boulders. They create spark gaps across which lightning can arc on its way to earth, striking anyone there. However, a deep cave is safe haven as long as you go right to the back.
