Bossing!

In Eat Bulaga every time a host yells "Bossing!!!" the crowd instantly goes wild, for they know bossing is about to enter the stage. Who is bossing you say? If you don't know him, it only means two things, either you don't watch television or you are not a Filipino.

Vic Sotto or "Bossing", was born Marvic Castelo Sotto on the 28th of April 1954, is one of the original host of the longest running noontime t.v. show Eat Bulaga. Aside from being a host and an actor he is also a producer, composer and a singer if there is one talent that he doesn't posses that is dancing.

Bossing who's an alumnus of Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Manila), started his career as a folk singer and a guitarist, on the early 70's he joined the gag show "OK Lang" which aired on IBC TV Network with his brothers Tito and Val Sotto. Also during these years he became the lead vocalist of the disco funk band VST & Company, with his band mates they produced hit songs like "Ipagpatawad Mo", "Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko", “Rock, Baby, Rock" with his lifetime friend Joey de Leon whom he met in the show "OK Lang". Together with Joey and his brother Tito Sotto, they formed the most successful comedy trio here in the Philippines, the TVJ(derived from their initials Tito, Vic and Joey) and was cast in shows like Iskul Bukol, TVJ: Television's Jesters, Rock and Roll 2000 and Eat Bulaga.

About his love life bossing was once married to his ex-wife actress Dina Bonnevie, their offsprings were Oyo Boy Sotto and Danica Sotto who followed their footsteps and became showbiz personalities as well. But aside from his children with Dina, bossing also has two other children: Vico with actress Coney Reyes, and Paulina with actress Angela Luz. Presently bossing is in a relationship with fellow celebrity and co-host Pia Guanio which he met in Eat Bulaga.

Bossing also is an award winning actor, his awards includes: Three-time Box-Office King in Guillermo Mendoza's Entertainment Awards, Best Actor in a Comedy Series - PMPC Star Awards for Television (1986, 1989, 1996, 2001, & 2002) , Best Male Variety Show Host - PMPC Star Awards for Television (1989, 1992, 2000, 2002 & 2008), Lifetime Achievement Award (for TVJ) - PMPC Star Awards for Television 2000, Comedy Box Office King (with Dolphy) - 2009 Guillermo Mendoza's Entertainment Awards

But if you are wondering how did Vic Sotto got to be called "Bossing", this is because of his self-produced sitcom on 1987 "Okay Ka, Fairy Ko(Your O.K., My Fairy)". In this show which became so popular that it had released six spin-off movies, he played as Enteng Kabisote (a mortal who got married to a fairy princess) Prinsipe K (a wish granting fairy prince, K stands for kahilingan or wish) would always call him bossing, afterwards everybody would identify him as "Bossing".
